Wayback Series - Yumeiro Patissiere

No wonder could you have a sweet tooth.

Been a time since I publish my recent blog entry a few days ago due to my scheds piled up. Maybe it is now time for the last Wayback post before I will take a break on this year's Holy Week (aka 'The Week That Will Changed the World'), because I need to spend time with my family back in Cainta, because it was a tradition to showcase my uncle's holy tableau. Here's a pic that I taken from my Instagram page.

And now for this...

Although this series is currently aired on Hero TV, then if you are dreaming of becoming the best patissiere in all of the world, then Yumeiro Patissiere is just the pick for you.

Yumeiro Patissiere is partially a shojo manga, and it adapted into a anime series by Studio Pierrot and Studio Hibari, aired from the 4th October 2009 to the 26th September, 2010, with a grand total of 50 episodes. By the way, the manga begins serialization in the October 2008 issue of Ribon on September 3rd. As of May 2011, the individual chapters of the manga have collected into 9 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha. The following month of that year, the manga ended on the 3rd June, with a total of 12 volumes. The manga then capture the Children's category award at the 56th Shogakukan Manga Awards. And Crunchyroll licensed the series for online streaming with English subtitles. There is a seven-minute OVA (Yumeiro Patissiere: Mune Kyun Tropical Island!) and a 13-episode anime (titled Yumeiro Patissiere SP Professional) aired in 2010, about a year before the manga ended.

The sweet tangling story begins with a clumsy 14-year old girl named Ichigo Amano, and believe it or not, she doesn't have any talent except for eating sweets (more specifically cakes). When Ichigo stumbles upon a event called the Sweets Festival, she meets a man who acknowledges her skill of taste named Henri Lucas (or Henri-sensei), and he invites her to transfer to St. Marie Academy in order to become a pâtissière. Through her entry to the academy, Ichigo has some trouble adjusting initially, but with the help of the three guys called the Sweets Princes (Makoto, Satsuki and Sennosuke) and the Sweets Spirits (Cafe, Caramel, Chocolate and Vanilla), Ichigo then gains the confidence and of her skill to work towards becoming a great pâtissière. Ichigo and the Sweet Princes are trying to the Grand Prix throughout the entire anime, which allowed them to go to the heart of France (Paris). Ichigo then has a lot character change and of course she grows little by little throughout the competition. She realizes some of her many things and thus her skills and rapidly improving.

In Professional just two years after studying in Paris, Ichigo, now sixteen, returns to Japan as a professional pâtissière. But as soon as she returns, she finds Team Ichigo are breaking up. Hanabusa and Andou, are taking long absences from school to work for their dreams, leaving Ichigo and Kashino. Then, due to having top grades back at Paris, Kashino skipped a grade. Soon, a 'new' Team Ichigo is then formed by Henri for the project. The team consists of Lemon Yamagishi, Johnny McBeal, Makoto Kashino, and Ichigo Amano.

Aoi Yūki, who is known for her roles in Onegai My Melody (as Yumeno Koto), Durarara!! (as the young Shinra Kishitani), Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy (as Konoha Morimura), and Senki Zesshō Symphogear (As Hibiki Tachibana), plays the main heroine of the anime. Now I actually known Makoto Kashino's seiyuu, Nobuhiko Okamoto, who is known for his roles in Brothers Conflict, Potemayo, and Nodame Cantabile. But Okamoto's famous is none other than Ghost Hunt's John Brown. Tsubasa Yonaga, who is known as Nagisa in Free! Nagi Mikado in Uta no Prince-sama S2 (aka Maji Love 2000%), and Kazuto Minaho in Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy, plays the role of the expert in candy sculptures and flower-based cakes that is Satsuki Hanabusa. Other voice actors that starred in the series including Daisuke Kishio, Eri Kitamura, Sayuri Yahagi, Mariya Ise, Tomokazu  Sugita, Akio Suyama, Minori Chihara, Yui Ogura, Sachika Misawa and lots more to mention.

If you wanna bake a cake, pastry, or sweets, then go and explore the world of Yumeiro Patissiere!
