Wayback Series - Nekketsu Saikyo Gosaurer

GOSAURER! NEKKETSU GATTAI! (Dinosaurs vs. Machines? Count me in!)
[---Part 3 of 3 in the Eldran Series Specials---]

FOREWORD: As I will prepare my coverage for this year's CosMania (Cosplay Mania), please be advise to bring your own umbrella to ensure your safety, just in case of a bad rain. I managed to buy the silver ticket (costs 298 bucks, but the cashier give me a 20% PWD discount and payed me 239 bucks) though. And please take note that I will not posted the 4th and final entry of the series, Kanzen Shouri Daiteioh, because this was a OVA.

As I will conclude the Eldran Series, I would talk about this anime that will complete your Eldran trilogy, this is Nekketsu Saikyo Gosaurer.

The incredible third entry of the Eldran Series is aired on TV Tokyo and it aired on March 3rd, 1993 to February 23rd, 1994 with a total of 51 episodes.

Join the Saurers now and you will get a free Saurer Token! (Not!)
The antagonist of the series, the Kikaika Empire (Machine Empire in the Filipino-dubbed version) has invaded the solar system, and when it does, they take it over and convert Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter and Mars. And now the Empire has now ready to set their sights on Earth. But one thing that can stand in their way, and that was the ancient protector and the soldier of light that is Eldran. In order to fight the menace of the Kikaika Empire, Eldran must send through and he gives a 5th-grade class not just one, but three huge robotic dinosaurs (which is called the Saurer Machines), and with that the power to merge and form the giant robot named Gosaurer, in which they can pilot and use to stop the advancement of the Kikaika Empire.

Kenichi Minesaki and Mach Ptera
Shinobu Asaoka and Thunder Brachio
Hiromi Tachibana and Land Stego
Gorou Ishida and the Saurer Jet, Gosaurer's initial form
Tarou 'Kinta' Shirokane and Magnasaurer
Youji Hiyama and the Gransaurer
Erika 'Eli' Kousu and Takako 'Kyouju' Koshima
The Four Kings of Kikaika Empire (from L to R): Haguruma-Oh, Denki-Oh, Engine-Oh and Denji-Oh
Urara Takano (Maria Tachibana in Sakura Wars, Ryo Takaba in Bakusō Kyōdai Let's & Go!! and Musashi Kazama in Grander Musashi) provided the voice of Kenichi Misaki, who is the pilot of the Mach Ptera, in which becomes Gosaurer's back (including wings) and the arms. Cheerful and energetic, but he has studying problems (Oh you idiot!). Kenichi is also the nominal 'head' of the group of him, Bin and Chobi. His family owned a sports store.

Yuri Amano (Nanbel in Burn Up Excess, Sakura Kasuga in Corrector Yui, and Ifurita in El Hazard: The Alternative World) casts as Shinobu Asaoka, the pilot of the Thunder Brachio, in with was transformed into Gosaurer's legs. Shinobu was a bit of a tomboy in fact, and she is good with a sword. Although her mom is partially very 'proper', her grandmother helps her with some kendo and believe it or not, her grandmother's a game expert.

The popular Megumi Hayashibara (Rei Ayanami in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Lina Inverse in The Slayers and Aki Kisaragi in Tekkaman Blade) voices the pilot of Land Stego, Hiromi Tachibana, who is rather quiet at sometimes, and he is an aspiring mangaka. His although klutzy mother is a superior doctor. Hiromi's Saurer Machine, the Land Stego, forms Gosaurer's main body. Hayashibara also voices the leader of the Saurers, Erika 'Eli' Kousu.

Noriko Uemura (Josephine Yamamoto in Go! Go! Ackman, Gold Claw in Re: Cutey Honey and Hanako in Stop! Hibari-kun) voices the class prez Goro Ishida, who he had a very powerful temper (Beware!) and is like a volcano when it erupts. He might be gentle and seemingly stable, but beware when he gets cut off. Goro pilots the initial form of the Gosaurer, the Saurer Jet.

Bin Shimada (Stig Bernard in Genesis Climber Mospeada, Daisaku Sasaki in Kishin Corps and Gabriel Ramirez Garcia in MS Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket) voices Tarou Shirokane aka Kinta, who is the pilot of the Magnasaurer (in all three forms). Kinta is a student of judo, and he was the only person to stand up against Denki-Oh when he attacked the group at the excavation of the Saurer Machine for that robot.

Akemi Shinohara (Ryuuichi Fukazawa in Mama wa Shougaku Yonensei, Moonlight Jewels in Metal Fighter Miku and Barbalib in Barbapapa Around the World) provides the voice of the geek/nerd and the teacher's pet of the class, Youji Hiyama. Although he likes to read, Youji's parents disapproved of his doing. Once he attempted to running away from home, he decided to return from the Saurers after a battle with a Kikaikajuu. He had a crush on Yayoi Yuri, who is the teacher of the 6-3 class. Youji is known as the pilot of the Gransaurer.

Other voices actors starred in the show were Ikue Ohtani, Koichi Yamadera, Masashi Sugahara, Shin Aomori, and Masahiro Anzai.

Fight with dinosaurs against the evil Kikaika Empire with the Saurers and Gosaurer!

You had to complete your history lesson on dinosaurs, and you get a A+ on this.
