Wayback Wednesday Series - Brothers Conflict

It's all about the family without a special one...

First of all, I don't play otome games why? Because I can't probably understand Japanese. Anyways, if you are a huge fan of this incredible anime, then watch Brothers Conflict, or BroCon for short. This is a light novel series that is created by Atsuko Kanase, written by Takeshi Mizuno and the illustrations are done by Udajo. Later on the series has been adapted into two otome games by Idea Factory for the PlayStation Portable (Passion Pink and Brilliant Blue), a yonkoma manga series (entitled BroCon PuruPuru) that is running from November 2012 to October 2013, and a TV anime that is aired on the day after Canada Day (July 2nd, 2013) to September 17th, 2013 with a total of 12 episodes plus a special episode. The second novel series (entitled BroCon: Second Season) is currently ongoing.

The story begins with Ema Hinata, who is known as the daughter of the well-known adventurer, Rintaro. She is in 2nd year of high school. One day, she finds out that her father is going to remarry a successful apparel maker named Miwa Asahina. Instead of rather than bothering them on their upcoming marriage, she decides to move into a place called Sunrise Residence complex that is owned by Ms. Asahina herself. From there, Ema discovers that she has not just one, but thirteen stepbrothers. There are many episodes to watch the series, but my favorite of all was the scene where Ema is later revealed to be adopted by Rintaro in episode nine.

Rina Satou, who is known for her roles in Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou, Sailor Moon Crystal (as Rei Hino/Sailor Mars), Knights of Sidonia and BlazBlue Alter Memory, plays the heroine of the series, while her talking pet squirrel companion Juli is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya, who is known as Levi-heichou in Attack on Titan and Baldr Hringhorni in Kamigami no Asobi.

And now... let's meet the 13 stepbrothers!

Masaomi Asahina (aka The Doctor) - The eldest son of the family, the family's father figure, and he's a pediatrician, and well versed in medicine. In the first episode, he checks on Ema and he found out that she has a fever. Loves children and shares a special bond with Wataru. Kazuyuki Okitsu, who is his seiyuu, is known for his roles in Mobile Suit Gundam-san (as Garma-san), Minato Sakai in Gundam Build Fighters Try and Kazumitsu Tendō in Black Bullet.

Ukyo Asahina (aka The "I Am The Law!" Man) - Second eldest and the family's mother figure, as well as a successful lawyer. Had a calm personality, but very talkative. I could remember in one episode when Juli called Ukyo a 'crooked lawyer', then proceeds to attack him in the face (No! Not the glasses!!). We all know his seiyuu, Daisuke Hirakawa. He is the man behind Rei Ryugazaki in Free!, Laito Sakamaki in Diabolik Lovers and Rei Sagara in Love Stage.

Kaname Asahina (aka The Playboy Monk) - The third child of the family, a womanizer, and has the charms of a playboy, actually he is a monk. He is one of the monks in Club Buddha in one episode. My favorite seiyuu throughout my list, Junichi Suwabe, is known for his roles in Cuticle Detective Inaba, Starry Sky, and lastly Uta no Prince-sama.

Hikaru Asahina (aka The Crossdressing Novelist) - The family's fourth son, and he is a cross-dressing novelist. Although he had to gather material for his work and had gone to Italy for a short time, he seems to know that almost any one of his brothers has trememdous feelings toward out cute sweet Ema. Nobuhiko Okamoto, who is known for playing Hikaru, is known for his roles in Hybrid Child, Captain Earth and Ace of Diamond.

Tsubaki Asahina (aka The Silver Hair Dude) - The family's fifth son, Azusa's identical twin bro, and the older triplet to Natsume. A prominent voice actor by occupation, but he is hard-working and passionate about his career, fortunately he is cheeky and pushy (I thought I would say 'Cheeki Breeki' XD). Kenichi Suzumura voiced this guy, and was known for his roles in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, Uta no Prince-sama and Starry Sky.

Azusa Asahina (aka The Glasses Dude) - Sixth son of the family, identical twin to Tsubaki, and one  of Natsume's triplets. He had the same job as Tsubaki, but he's less tenacious and calmer than Tsubaki, and is usually the one to keep him in check. Kosuke Toriumi voiced Azusa. Toriumi is known for such roles including Cecil Aijima in Uta no Prince-sama, Tengu in Gugure! Kokkuri-san and Kiba Inuzuka in Naruto.

Natsume Asahina (aka The Gaming Salaryman) - The seventh son of the family, and the youngest triplet to Tsubaki and Azusa. Unlike the two, Natsume's the fraternal twin, meaning that he was born from a different egg. Believe it or not, he is a CEO of a video game company that makes Ema's favorite games that is called 'Zombie Hazard'. He lived alone in his apartment with two cats unlike the rest of his brothers. Tomoaki Maeno, who is known for voicing Camus in Uta no Prince-sama, Masatoshi Harada in Ace of Diamond, and Kiharu of Karneval, voices the smoking salaryman (of course he's smokes along with Hikaru!).

Louis Asahina (aka The Pretty Boy Hairstylist) - The family's eighth son, and a hairdresser. Beautiful and mysterious, he always looked up in the clouds. Louis is the only person besides Ema who can communicate with Juli and promised that he and Juli will protect Ema, thus calling it 'The Protect Chi Club'. In one episode during a boat ride with Ema, Louis is actually adopted when he was two years old. The seiyuu behind Louis, Ken Takeuchi, is known for voicing Keita Suminoe in Kiss×Sis, Komaki in Haikyuu, Kevin in Black Cat, and Lithuania in Hetalia: Axis Powers.

Subaru Asahina (aka The Athletic One) - The family's ninth son, very athletic but being on a basketball team at Meiji University, and a college sophomore. To no avail, Subaru has no knowledge when it comes to girls, so he didn't know how to deal with them. He gets tense when around Ema as a tremendous result. We all know his seiyuu, Daisuke Ono, right? He had some awesome roles in Kuroko's Basketball (Shintaro Midorima), Barakamon (Seishuu Handa) and his current role in Gugure! Kokkuri-san (as the fox demon himself).

Iori Asahina (aka The Natural Gardener/School Ace) - The tenth son of the family, third-year student (senior year) of Bright Centrair Academy, and he has a prince-like behavior. Even though he is well-known in other high schools, he is very popular. Also, Iori is very accepting to Ema when she comes into the family. Guess what, he has the knowledge of all types of flowers and what they mean. In order to make Ema feel better, Iori often gives flowers related to her current situations. Iori is always shown wearing a cross necklace on his neck. Despite that he had a prince-like behavior, he can be very scary during wintertime. Daisuke Namikawa, who is known for voicing the silver-haired prince, is known for his roles in Hetalia: Axis Powers (Veneziano and Romano aka North and South Italy), Ikki Tousen (as Toutaku Chuuei), and Fate/zero (as Waver Velvet).

Yuusuke Asahina (aka The Red-Haired Guy) - The eleventh son of the family, a second-year student and he's Ema's classmate. Despite that he also being a delinquent, he has a righteous personality and particularly hates anything to be incorrect. Yuusuke was very confused when Ema came into the family. Yoshimasa Hosoya, Yuusuke's seiyuu, is known for his incredible roles, such as Reiner Braun in Attack on Titan, Arata Wataya in Chihayafuru, and lastly, Sousuke Yamazaki in Free! Eternal Summer.

Fuuto Asahina (aka The Idol) - The family's twelfth son, a first-year student, and of course he's an idol. Fuuto can be very mature for his age (he's fifteen) however, but he has a devilish and cheeky personality. He partially loves to tease Ema about being his 'beautiful idiot sister', and later developed romantic feelings toward her. The seiyuu behind this one, KENN, is known for his roles in The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk (as Jil), Uchuu Kyoudai (as Hibito Nanba), and Kuroshitsuji II (as Ronald Knox).

Wataru Asahina (aka The Spoiled One) - The thirteenth and youngest son of the family. Sweet and honest, but to no avail he's very spoiled. Due to the over-protection of his older brothers, he is sometimes had a spoiled behavior. Yuki Kaji, who is known for his roles in Attack on Titan (as Eren Jaeger), Noragami (as Yukine), Magi: The Kingdom of Magic (as Alibaba Saluja), and World Trigger (as Osamu Mikumo).

So relive the love and the romance of the story that is Brothers Conflict.

Oh and please take note, I made this incredible post on the occasion of Ukyo's birthday.
